I am pleased to announce that I have been elected to serve on the Board of Directors for the NH Society of Photographic Artists (NHSPA). It is an honor to join the distinguished leaders, including President Gary Samson, Vice President Ian Raymond, and Secretary Claudia Rippee, as well as the rest of the board.
Our mission is to support photography as a means for creative expression and cultural insight. We do this through education, projects, exhibitions, publications, and outreach programs.
This is an exciting time for the NHSPA, in part because it has recently made its home base at Kimball Jenkins School of Art in Concord. Here, we have a photography studio on the second floor of the mansion, and have recently renovated the large darkroom with classrooms on the basement level. Group meetings are held at Kimball Jenkins, and we have member exhibitions in the Carriage House and mansion.
We’re welcoming new members! Anyone who is interested in photography at any level would benefit from membership. You can join by clicking HERE. There are many reasons to become a member.
You can support the arts in New Hampshire, meet other photographers, and use the photography studio, large format printers, and darkroom at Kimball Jenkins. You can also participate in exhibitions and projects large and small. One state-wide project we’re currently working on is called “NH Now.”
NH Now is a long-term project about life in New Hampshire. It will culminate in eight simultaneous exhibits around the state next fall, as well as a book. I’ll write more about NH Now, as well as the many other projects, opportunities, and collaborations offered by the New Hampshire Society of Photographic Artists.
I look forward to serving the artistic community of New Hampshire with the other volunteers who have already been giving their time for so long.
