Heidi and Paula – A Beach Engagement Session

Heidi and Paula usually start their story with “Paula was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar…” Only it wasn’t really a cocktail bar, it was Foster’s Boiler Room at the Common Man Inn in Plymouth, NH, and their story has a happier outcome than Human League’s song, “Don’t You Want Me”.

Last year, after ten years together, Heidi and Paula vacationed in Scotland. They visited the beach in Dunoon on the Firth of Clyde. Heidi went down to the shore to collect small rocks. Out of the corner of her eye, Heidi saw Paula walking down the ramp to the beach. Her back was to Paula but she heard Paula say, “Can I ask you something?” It was nearing lunchtime and Heidi thought to herself, “Yes, I would like a drink with lunch,” when Paula said…”Will you marry me?” Heidi turned around and Paula was standing there, holding an engagement ring. She said “yes,” and they’ll be married on July 12, 2014.
