A Busy Few Weeks!

Hello, Friends. Whew – it has been a busy few weeks! I’m just coming up for air now so I thought I’d let you know what’s been going on and what’s coming up.

The Juried Regional Exhibit at the Library Arts Center

I attended the opening reception at the Library Arts Center for the Juried Regional Exhibit. This is one of my favorite galleries, not only because Newport, NH is my hometown, but they do an incredible job curating it, and welcoming people. I got to see some old friends–and even my brother, Billy–and I got to see my work, “Olympia,” from my “Knitted Together” project, on the wall alongside so many talented artists. You can see this exhibit through July 24. It’s worth stopping by!

The Over 50 Revolution

Last week, I photographed a beautiful client, Rebecca, from Burlington, Vermont for The Over 50 Revolution. I’ll share her photos and words soon. In the meantime, here’s a behind-the-scenes cell pic of Rebecca, enjoying hair and makeup styling by Donna Cotnoir.

The June Portrait Workshop

Last weekend, I welcomed six participants from NH and MA, along with two models, for a portrait workshop at my studio. I absolutely love teaching, and this was a fantastic group of people.

An Exhibit of Protest Portraits

I also took down an exhibit of Protest Portraits from the Unitarian Universalist church. It had been up for two months. Sadly, this project is still relevant, though I photographed it in 2020.

Construction Progress

My studio has a nice, new mini-split (built-in air conditioner/heater), which does a beautiful job keeping it cool!  Outside, Main Street is newly paved.  There are new granite curbs and soon, new paving there, too. You won’t have to come in the back door anymore! Should I schedule an open studio this summer?

Next Up

Next up, I’ve got some headshot sessions and pet portraits that I’ll share with you soon (you know I especially adore old dogs – maybe because I can relate to them!)

Viktor Loves to Swim!

Lastly, here are a couple of cell pics of me, swimming with our youngest dog, Viktor, on a hot day this week. This was his first swim and he loved it!

Portrait Sessions Available This Summer

If you’re thinking about booking a portrait session, you should do it soon. The fall and winter dates are filling quickly, but I’ve still got some availability this summer. Get in touch and let’s talk! I can’t wait to see you.
