“I Was Amazed with the Results”

“After admiring her work on Instagram, I drove an hour and a half for a headshot session with Maundy. It was worth every minute! She gave clear directions about how to prepare for the session and, when I arrived, made the whole thing so easy. I was amazed with the results. I highly recommend Maundy Mitchell Photography.” – Amy Ford, artist

Amy Ford is a mixed media and acrylic artist whose primary focus is the human form. When she found me on Instagram, she connected with my mission to create portraits and headshots that invite the viewer to a closer look and ultimately, to form a deeper connection with the subject. She also needed headshots for various publications, websites, and social media.

In her artist statement she writes, “As humans, we are not easily pried away from our habitual desire to assess a person according to subconscious metrics. I attempt to transcend the usual presentation of beauty, style, race, gender, and social status in my work. All fade away when we are presented with a version of the subject that expands this perception of the human form. Rather than focusing on what makes the individual unique, the viewer is invited, instead, to make a connection to our shared humanity. This sentiment offers indications of the story behind each person while drawing the viewer into a visual conversation that bypasses the superficial and demands a deeper look.

Ford is currently represented by Beacon Gallery in Boston, MA. You can also view her work on her website, HERE.
