It was a pleasure to create Ava’s first acting headshots. She already walks into the room with main character energy. This dedicated teen also a sings and dances. She spent her summer at Berkeley in Boston, studying voice.
One of the best things you can do to support a young actor is help them get professional headshots and portraits. These are the photos that will be in front of casting directors. They will determine whether the actor gets the chance to audition for a role.
Casting directors look for different things depending on the role, so it’s important for actors to have a few different expressions in their photos. That way they can easily submit photos for the roles they really want, whether it’s a musical, comedy or drama.
Expression and body language are crucial to good headshots and portraits. I guide actors throughout the experience, from how to prepare for their session to what to bring. They don’t need to know what to do in front of the camera! During their photo session, I direct them to create body language and expression to convey specific messages.
I’m looking forward to seeing where Ava’s acting career takes her. Break a leg, Ava!
