I am not sitting out in the woods in the winter for four hours freezing my butt off. \u00a0 Screw that. \u00a0Let me tell you how it’s done.<\/p>\n

One day this winter a very good friend of mine told me that she had cardinals at her house. I have a thing for cardinals. \u00a0 I actually\u00a0have a thing for any kind of bird. \u00a0 We have a lot of cardinals in New Hampshire, but I can never seem to get any to come to my house. \u00a0 So I went right over to Kree\u2019s house.<\/p>\n

When I got there, I took my equipment inside, and then sat on the porch waiting. \u00a0My god it was cold out. \u00a0 \u00a0Sort of goes along with winter in New Hampshire.<\/p>\n

I went inside. I could hear the cardinals. \u00a0I wasn\u2019t about to leave. \u00a0 I made camp in a chair by the window in Kree\u2019s pantry. \u00a0 I was probably in between the cereal and the tuna fish. \u00a0I didn\u2019t look in the cupboards.<\/p>\n

I was just going to run out when I saw the cardinals, but Kree knows what a wimp I am, so she opened the window for me. \u00a0 It was eleven degrees outside. \u00a0 That\u2019s a good friend.<\/p>\n

Canon\u2019s 300mm f\/2.8 is a beautiful lens for wildlife photography, and I\u2019ve used it for portraits as well.\u00a0 It\u2019s a beast of a lens, so you won\u2019t see me walking down the street with it.\u00a0 (Actually, I can\u2019t promise that.\u00a0 Someone told me there were waxwings at a tree near the library).<\/p>\n
