Wendy chose to participate in The Over 50 Revolution because, like many women, she has always been the person behind the camera. She made sure her family always existed in photos, but not herself. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But after seeing portraits of others from The Over 50 Revolution, she was inspired. She decided to exist in portraits, for herself and for those who love her. She thought it would be good to see herself through someone else’s eyes, and a way to provide a timeless gift for the future.<\/p>\n\n\n

To Wendy, the beauty of women over 50 possess a timeless kind of beauty – their wisdom, confidence, and strength come especially from within.<\/p>\n\n\n

When asked how she has changed since she turned 50, Wendy said that she now feels a sense of calmness. She no longer feels a need to control everything that happens, but can now “flow with it, taking what is good for my mind, body, and spirit and leaving the rest.”<\/p>\n\n\n

Coming from a large family, Wendy had different role models at different ages. Sometimes though, she didn’t recognize the magnitude of the women who were constant. “Mainly speaking of the tender teenage years and the general disconnect between a teenage daughter and her mother!  Now looking back, I realize that I learned so much from both of my parents! When directly focusing on women, my mother and my grandmother gave me the foundation for the person that I am.”<\/p>\n\n\n

The advice that Wendy would give to someone who is younger than her is this: “Be kindest to yourself… Perception is powerful and can shape one\u2019s feelings about the world, others, and self.  Stay on the path of positive perception with kindness, caring and love for all.”<\/p>\n\n\n
