Protest Portraits, <\/em>a large-scale art installation, will be on exhibit on the Plymouth, New Hampshire town common from August 1-9, 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The public is cordially invited to an opening reception on Sunday, August 2, from 4:00 \u2013 6:00 pm. We respectfully ask that people wear masks and maintain social distancing.  There will be live jazz music by Mark Flynn on the bandstand and free ice cream.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Protest Portraits is an installation of life-sized black and white photographs from a series.  The exhibit provides an ongoing presence of peaceful demonstration and protest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shortly after the murder of George Floyd, I decided I wanted to help support the Black Lives Matter movement in some way. I began welcoming protesters into my studio during protests on the common in Plymouth, NH. I listened to peoples\u2019 stories and made their portraits. I shared the portraits on my blog and social media, and now I hope these portraits continue to invite conversation and inspire change.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n
